Programs
Wonderland Urban Agriculture Center advances its mission through five integrated program portfolios that strengthen sustainable food systems, improve community health, expand educational opportunities, reduce environmental waste, and build resilient communities.

SHIFT

Sustainable Habitat Improvement and Farm Training

Sustainable food systems begin with knowledgeable growers and environmentally responsible farming practices. Through hands-on education, demonstration projects, and technical assistance, SHIFT equips current and aspiring growers with the skills and resources needed to cultivate productive farms and gardens while improving long-term food and water security.

ROOTS

Resilience, Outreach, Outdoor Therapy, and Sustainable Health

Nature has the power to improve health, strengthen resilience, and foster meaningful human connection. ROOTS brings people into gardens and green spaces through therapeutic horticulture, community partnerships, and evidence-informed wellness initiatives that support physical, mental, and social well-being across the lifespan.

FENCE

Food Exposure and Nutritional Culinary Education

Healthy communities are built through a deeper understanding of food, culture, and nutrition. FENCE connects individuals and families with Indigenous food knowledge, culinary education, gardening, and healthy cooking practices that encourage lifelong wellness while celebrating the cultural traditions that shape our relationship with food.

WISP

Wonderland Innovation Sustainability Project

Tomorrow’s environmental leaders learn best through curiosity, exploration, and hands-on experience. WISP engages students in STEAM education that integrates urban agriculture, sustainability, ecology, and innovation while encouraging leadership, critical thinking, and lifelong environmental stewardship.

FLOWS

Food Loss and Organics Waste Solutions

Organic waste represents an opportunity rather than a liability. FLOWS promotes community-scale composting, circular food systems, and sustainable resource management that transform food waste into healthier soils, reduce landfill use, and strengthen resilient local food systems through education and community collaboration.
